As part of our Focus on Business series, The Explorer Blog speaks with Chris and Natasha Ashton, founders and CEOs of Petplan Insurance. The inspiration for Petplan came from a $5,000 veterinary bill the Ashtons incurred for their cat “Bodey” while they were pursuing their MBAs at University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. Winning the Wharton School Business Plan Competition with the idea for Petplan, the Ashtons have built a business that now insures 100,000 dogs and cats across the country.

Spend time at networking events as opposed to time on the internet. You are much more likely to find a job at a job fair, conference or some other event where you are meeting people face to face. Making a personal connection will make it much more likely that person will go “to bat” for you when it comes to helping you get a job.
